Hurricane Irma is currently at category 5 with winds at 185 mph and worsening every three hours or so. It’s destined to hit the islands and absolutely cover Puerto Rico, so one can only imagine the damage it’ll cause to the Islands. Not one bit of Puerto Rico will manage to avoid the rains and winds of this massive, record breaking phenomenon.
It is, quite literally, the biggest hurricane these islands have faced. The largest before was in 1928 and, while also being a category 5 hurricane, had winds literally 20-25 miles slower than this one. Irma seems to only be getting stronger and is sure to bring catastrophic events worse than even Harvey.
